A new automated guest registration system has been installed in the guardhouse.  This system will answer all calls.  The system is no different than many of the other automated phone systems out there.

When you call security (968-0140), the machine will answer your call.  It will ask you to press 1 to register a guest, 2 to speak to the guard directly, or 3 to speak with the swim club.  If you choose 2 or 3, your call will be transferred within a few seconds.  If you choose to register a guest, you will be prompted to enter your 4 digit pin number.  After you enter your pin number you will need to speak the name(s) of your guest(s), then choose how many days (up to 30) the guest(s) will be valid.  If you choose 1 day, that guest will be allowed in for the day you call in ONLY.  Therefore, if you call to register a guest arriving sometime that night, remember to register them for at least 2 days if they may arrive after midnight.

Some Q & A:

Can someone just use any pin number to gain access to Winston Trails?
No.  When they arrive at the gate, they must know the name of the resident which the pin belongs to.  If they do not know the name of who they are to see, they will not be allowed in.
Can I register more than one guest at a time?
Yes, as long as they all will be valid for the same length of time.
What is the longest message I can leave?
Currently, you can leave up to 30 seconds of names
Can I allow anyone to my house by saying "anyone" in the message?
No, there are no open gates permitted
Can I add people to my permanent guest list via the automated system
